Jamie Dornan's Perspective on Fifty Shades of Grey and Its Reception

I was aware of the baggage that came with it—the reality that it would be financially successful, adored by fans, and panned by critics. That's the pattern set by the books, and we were staying true to that."

As Dornan had expected, Fifty Shades of Grey got a humble 25% rating on Bad Tomatoes, while its continuations, Fifty Shades Hazier and Fifty Shades Liberated, fared much more terrible, with 11% each. By and by, the set of three gloated a devoted fanbase.

Dornan reflected, "Movies made for fans, adored by fans, can be deemed successful. I'm thankful that Dakota and I have since been able to work on projects that people appreciate, and even some of those same critics have had a change of heart."
