Spanish Actor Gabriel Guevara's Arrest Rattles Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival has officially confirmed the apprehension of Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, renowned for his role in the Spanish Amazon Prime teen film series "My Fault." He was taken into custody during the festival on allegations of sexual assault.

Gabriel Guevara had an international arrest warrant issued against him for a similar alleged offense in France.

Initial reports of his arrest were first published by the Venice daily, La Nuova Venezia. The festival, in an official statement, acknowledged the incident but stressed that Gabriel Guevara, a 22-year-old actor, was not present in Venice for any festival-related activities. The statement reads:

"In response to the news circulating on various websites regarding the arrest of Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara in Venice, the Biennale would like to clarify that his presence in Venice was unrelated to events or productions associated with the 80th Venice International Film Festival."

Gabriel Guevara, boasting a substantial social media following, initially gained recognition through his role in the Spanish adaptation of the Nordic teen series "Skam" before skyrocketing to fame in Amazon's "My Fault." He had recently arrived on the Lido and documented his visit on Instagram. He was slated to receive the "Filming Italy" prize during the festival.

The next course of action entails the Venice court of appeals deliberating on Gabriel Guevara's case before any extradition proceedings can proceed. As of now, the actor is in protective custody, and the specific charges against him remain undisclosed.
